Greater Western Area Health Service
Lachlan Valley Health Service, Service Plan
The Lachlan Valley Health Service, Service Plan is now available for download and public viewing on the internet.
The Service Plan, prepared by the GWAHS in conjunction with Colleen Wilson Health Strategies Pty Ltd and Sirius Economics has been endorsed by NSW Health. The development of the Plan has included consultation with medical, nursing and allied health professionals, health service management and staff and community representatives.
The Service Plan provides a framework for the delivery of health services in the Lachlan Valley catchment area into the future. It will inform the next stage of planning which involves concept development and design of the future health facilities.
The Plan describes a dual campus health service – the Lachlan Valley Health Service. Campuses at Forbes and Parkes will provide emergency, maternity, medical, surgical and community health services.
The next stage of the planning will involve extensive consultation with the Forbes and Parkes Health Councils who represent the interests of the community and consumer on health issues, visiting clinicians, health service staff, specialist staff and other key stakeholders.
The Chairs of the Forbes Health Council, Mrs Margaret Sheather, and the Parkes Health Council, Mr Malcolm Stacey, invite feedback and suggestions from the community.
